Executive Project
Returning to school represents a significant investment of time and money. The Eller Executive MBA generates return on this investment in many ways. Some are not easily quantified — stronger leadership skills, new skills and confidence for problem-solving and innovation, and a sense of great personal accomplishment. Others, like increased compensation and greater marketability over the course of your career, lend themselves to statistics.
The required Executive Project of the Eller Executive MBA — in which participants address a significant organizational challenge or initiative — generates a clear, tangible return.
Executive Project Options
During the last two-and-a-half months of the program, you will identify a challenge or initiative for your Executive Project. You can structure your project in one of three ways:
- Gather a team of people from different organizations interested in similar or related challenges
- Team up with others from your organization to work together on a project for that organization
- Select an outside company or organization with which to develop or new product or service innovation
Executive Project Examples
Recent projects have represented high-level organizational challenges resulting in business plans to support:
- Launching a new surgical device
- Reducing aircraft maintenance costs by incorporating state-of-the-art technologies
- Partnering a bank and a K-12 school district to promote financial skills among students
- Identifying a new consulting market for a software company
